Michael Jackson Statue Taken Down at British Museum After 'Leaving Neverland'

All USA, United States Published date: March 8, 2019

Description

A statue of Michael Jackson was removed from the National Football Museum in Manchester, England, on Thursday (March 7) following the release of Leaving Neverland.
The bombshell documentary, which was released in two parts on HBO earlier this week, details the allegations of Wade Robson and James Safechuck that the late King of Pop sexually abused each of them for years when they were children at his sprawling Neverland Ranch in California.
The museum dedicated to the U.K.’s most popular sport had displayed the statue since 2014 but had it taken down in the wake of the accusations against Jackson.
The documentary has set social media ablaze with deeply passionate reactions on both sides of a deep divide. While many celebrities and fans have spoken out in support of Robson and Safechuck, Jackson’s family and supporters have defended the singer and called his accusers’ credibility into question.
